Robina Chase is an English citizen and mother of Harry Chase. Robina starts the series as a cold-hearted and snobbish woman whose main aim was to raise Harry to be a man of great social standing. When the war starts she is forced into taking care of a Polish Refugee despite her having no motherly instincts. As the series goes on the reasons for Robina's cold nature are discovered and she finds herself caring for the Jan in ways that she never did with her own son. Through Jan, Robina gets a second chance of being a mother.
